How do I know the items I buy are in good condition?

We are very strict about quality and we systematically reject anything that is not in line with our selection criteria (read our policy here).

Items listed are all high-quality and are as close to like-new as possible, with minor signs of wear. Some might have been worn a little bit more than others and might have minor flaws, but we have decided to give them a second chance since they still have a lot of life in them. Prices are adapted accordingly. Minor flaws will always be pointed out in the item description.

Petit Fox will NEVER list items with holes, visible stains, intense pilling, fraying and multiple missing accessories that make the item look awkward.

All maternity wear listed is maternity specific to best accommodate the needs of the moms to be.

How are clothing sizes listed?

The actual size of an item is always mentioned in the title. If an item spans several sizes, we list the item according to all the sizes: an item sized 2-3 years will be listed as 2 years and 3 years.

How are shoe sizes listed?

The actual size of the shoe, as it appears on the shoe itself, is always mentioned in the title. Sizes are then converted into UK size for listing purposes. An international shoe size conversion table is available here for your convenience.

How often are new items added?

New items are added weekly, so check back often if you don’t want to miss out; remember, every item is unique. What is available today is different from what will be available on any other day.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship in South Africa only.

Do you deliver to PO boxes?

We do not deliver to PO boxes.

How long will it take and how much will it cost ?

We do everything we can to make sure your order gets to you as quickly as possible. Delivery costs and times depend on your location:

Cape Town Courier delivery – R45 – 1 to 2 working days

National Courier delivery – R75 – 2 to 5 working days

Pargo – Cape Town and national delivery – R75 – 2 to 5 working days

Please note we are not a delivery company and cannot guarantee exact delivery times. We use Pargo deliveries for all orders out of main centres.

What is Pargo?

Pargo is a click and collect delivery method. Have your Petit Fox order delivered to a local shop of your choice. No more missed deliveries, you will receive sms or email notification when your parcel arrives at the Pargo parcel point. Collect when it suits you best!

I find shipping costs expensive, how can I reduce them?

If you live in Cape Town or have a relative living in the area, you can choose to collect your order free of charge from our Sea Point collection and drop-off point (Cafe Sofia – 267 Main road (corner Frere & Main road), Sea Point – 082 576 7178). They are open Monday to Sunday, 8am till 8pm. Not only they are super friendly, but their capuccinos are delicious!

Another easy way to reduce shipping costs is to combine several orders with other moms in your area.


RETURNS & REFUNDS

Can I return items?

We take great care to make sure all the items we sell are in excellent condition and we want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase. If you find the clothes don’t fit or weren’t as you expected, we gladly accept returns provided:

The items are returned to us in their original condition within 14 days following delivery.

The items sold as ‘Never worn’ or ‘Brand new’ are returned with the tag intact and are still new, unworn and unwashed.

How do I return items?

Please inform us at hello@petitfox.co.za before returning the item.

Can I get my money back?

You can choose between a refund via direct EFT or a credit note to shop with us, which is valid as soon as we receive your returned item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Sale items are not eligible for returns.


SELL

How do I sell to Petit Fox?

Selling clothes to Petit Fox is FREE! If the clothes you want to sell meet our strict selection criteria, simply read the instructions on our Sell with us page.

How do you decide on the items you accept?

We are very strict on quality. For your own satisfaction we systematically reject items that do not meet our criteria. We do not accept low-quality clothing and will select clothes at our own discretion.

What happens to the items you reject?

What might not be sellable on Petit Fox can still be very wearable. That’s why we give you two options: get the clothes back (collection or postage at your cost) or allow us to give them to a local charity.

How much will I get and how do you decide on the amount?

The amount we pay depends on style, original price, brand, quality, quantity and category of each item. If the items are judged to be in high demand or a high-quality brand, we will pay you more. We also pay more for items that are new and still have the tag attached, provided they meet our selection criteria. We also take into account the work required to sort, freshen up, style, photograph, list and store clothing and then attract and serve buyers.

Why should I sell to you when I can make more on the classifieds? 

You can probably make more money selling individual pieces on the classifieds, but most moms find it’s not worth all the extra time and effort required. It’s easy to forget how long it takes to take pictures, price items, upload pictures, create ads, answer phone calls and wait for buyers that never pitch up. Selling to Petit Fox often nets more money for much, much less work.

How long will it take before I get paid?

We try really hard to process each parcel as fast as possible. Once the package reaches the Fox Cave, you’ll hear from us within a week and EFTs are made within a week thereafter. Unfortunately we have no control over courier companies and how fast they deliver, so we can’t guarantee their time frames, although most parcels reach us within two weeks.

What is the difference between consignment stores and Petit Fox? 

When selling your maternity and kids clothes to Petit Fox you get paid up front. With consignment stores, you have to wait for your items to sell to get paid and you have no guarantees that they will sell (or that they will sell at their original price, since they do markdowns to push the sale of your items).
